LARegistry
Mission Statement
Introduction
The LAR is a multinational and multicenter prospective registry to evaluate the treatment options of large aneurysms. The treatment of such aneurysms remains challenging with increasingly more endovascular techniques being utilized to treat such lesions. However, less common events have been reported such as inflammation, peri-aneurysmal edema, communicating hydrocephalus and aseptic meningitis. These events although not common, can have lasting outcome in this cohort of patients. Our aim is to recruit 600 patients over a 2 year period at 30 centers around the world with the hope of determining the best treatment options for these patients and to help identify factors that can minimize the morbidity associated with treating such lesions.
This study is being conducted by Dr. Julian Spears of St Michaels Hospital and Dr. Chris Wallace of Toronto Western Hospital. The Core Lab will be Toronto Western Hospital. The study will be divided into three arms: Medical, Surgical and Endovascular Management and is intended to be a scientific study that can assist physicians in their treatment of large aneurysms.
We look forward to your participation in this analysis!
